CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Medical Examiner columnist Helen Blocker-Adams was today awarded a grant from GHSU’s Institute of Public and Preventive Health. Excerpts from a GHSU press release:

The Institute of Public and Preventive Health at Georgia Health Sciences University today awarded community-based research grants totaling $330,000 through its Community Health Partnership Grants Program.

The grants pair recipients from the Augusta region with GHSU researchers for collaborative studies designed to improve public health throughout the region, from inner-city neighborhoods to rural localities.

From nearly 30 applications received from volunteer organizations, schools, churches, state agencies, companies and other influencers of public health, seven were selected to receive inaugural grants up to $50,000 each:

· The HBA Group, Intl. – “Leadership for Healthy Lifestyles”
To incorporate weekly classes on healthy lifestyles into an ongoing student leadership program at Pine Hills Middle School and extend the program across the CSRA
