Who should be Augusta’s Doctor of the Year?

(Hippocrates is not eligible to win.)

Hundreds of doctors practice medicine in Augusta, and for thousands of patients across Georgia, South Carolina and beyond, Augusta is a major medical center. The Augusta Medical Examiner, Augusta’s only independent publication dedicated to health, medicine and wellness, wants to recognize Augusta’s “Doctor of the Year.” We’re looking for doctors who have gone above and beyond the call of duty in service to patients and their health.

• Maybe this doctor saved your life or the life of a family member.
• Perhaps this doctor did that rarest of deeds in today’s world: a house call.
• This doctor may have finally made the correct diagnosis for you after years of uncertainty and ineffective treatment.
• Maybe this doctor simply showed the finest example of caring concern you have ever seen.

Whatever it is, we’re looking for shining examples, along with specific details. It’s nice to be told “Dr. Jones at ABC Hospital is the best!!!” but that’s a little too vague for our purposes. We hope you will help us find the 2013 Doctor of the Year. Mail the Medical Examiner at PO Box 397, Augusta GA 30903 or send an e-mail to publisher Dan Pearson: Dan@AugustaRx.com. Deadline: June 30

NOTE:
• we will not publish sensitive information which anyone making a nomination would like to remain confidential
• we would like to hear “above and beyond the call of duty” stories about any Augusta-area physician, even those who have since died or retired.

Thank you for your help!
