The city is awash in toned, taut, and trained athletes here for the Augusta Ironman competition on Sunday, a 70+ mile run, bike and swim competition. There are so many participants to the sold-out event that news reports estimate the economic impact in millions upon millions of dollars. Wow. That’s a lot of aspirin, ace bandages, heat wraps and Gatorade – oh, and carbs. Definitely carbs. Lots of carbs.
