I wonder how many tombstones would have this inscription if there was some law requiring a description of the moments just before death? In short, quite a few. Sadly, every one of them would be unnecessary.
What makes it even sadder is the knowledge that nearly all of us are guilty – yes, I am too. We know the risks, yet each time we take that risk we think, “I will be the exception. I can do it safely.”
And several of us hit send and then a tree. Know what would be even worse – by far? Killing someone else. And then having to live with that forever.
Bottom line: let’s try to end our texting and driving combination, completely and totally.
