You may be shocked to discover the origins of the Christmas tradition of placing a lighted candle in your windows; the yule log and so-called yuletide greetings; of evergreen or holly wreaths; of mistletoe; of gift-giving; the 12 days of Christmas; even the origins of the date December 25.
