In a world where everyone has a forum (if not several) ready to instantly accept their every thought, these are wise words indeed.
In decades past, getting an opinion before large numbers of people was probably best served by writing a Letter to the Editor of the local newspaper. Maybe a week later it might appear, shortened, sanitized, heavily edited for space and content. Today, anyone and everyone can post whatever pops into their head the instant the thought first congeals, often before pesky things like facts rear their ugly heads.
Is that a good thing?
Not really.
