The 8/20 Monday Message

Why is this significant?

Where are your ads seen? A better question is, Where are they unseen?
• Are they on billboards? Good luck with that: motorists literally have about 2 seconds to register your message — if they even see it.
• Are they in one of the CSRA’s slick monthly magazines? Congratulations. Those are the most expensive print ads money can buy.
• Are they in an envelope full of savings coupons? Do you have any idea how many of those envelopes are thrown away unopened?
• Are they on radio? By and large you’re reaching people while driving, so they’re distracted and can’t give your message their full attention.
• Are they on television? You may be sold on their overall numbers, but how many people channel surf or fast-forward during commercials?
• Are they in the newspaper? Better hope you’re not on an inside page of a section or your visibility will drop dramatically.

On the other hand, if you’re in the Medical Examiner, we deliver to 14 area hospitals and more than 500 doctors offices. Translation: lots and lots of waiting rooms. They call them waiting rooms for a reason. People have time on their hands. They’re looking for something to read. What would you choose: the new Medical Examiner or a 2009 copy of Ladies Home Journal? If you have a health-related message, this is the perfect vehicle reaching the perfect audience. If you’re selling cars or TVs or clothing or looking for more customers in your restaurant, remember that eventually everybody’s a patient. In the meantime, ads in the Medical Examiner are ads that people actually read in a publication they have the time to read, cover to cover.
