Yes, boys and girls, we have reached the magical half-way point in our weekly labors. Time for a refreshing break, a.k.a., the Medical Examiner’s celebrated Hump Day Hiatus.
At first, this video may have you thinking, what does this have to do with health, wellness and medicine, our three bywords. By way of an answer, some of you may recall a photo I posted on Facebook a couple of weeks ago entitled, “What marriage should look like.” It was two almost identical photos of Queen ELizabeth II of Great Britain and her husband and royal consort, Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh. Although the pictures were taken decades apart, they show the same happy couple in each. It’s really a remarkable photo in these days of living together “forever,” but only temporarily. Ask anyone who has been through a divorce or is living in a desperately unhappy marriage (fortunately I have no first-hand knowledge of either), and they will tell you it is the polar opposite of health, wellness, and happiness. A good marriage is, yes, here comes another Examiner byword, salubrious. Very salubrious.
This delightful music video offers another view of what marriage is really like. I have read that a successful marriage is the union of two good forgivers. This is that very maxim set to music and pictures.
