Hump Day has arrived.

And along with it, the perfect time for a refreshing hiatus.

Here’s a question: if you were asked to irrigate a large area – say 500 acres – how would you do it? That’s a lot of ground. There would be miles of pipes to lay, a powerful pump and power source for it would be needed, and of course, you would have to have a significant and reliable source of water. It would be a lot of work, and it would be expensive. It might be noisy. And it might not be particularly pretty:sprinklers

But what if the area that needed to be irrigated measured, oh, let’s say 3,794,101 square miles? How would you do that? That’s the land area of the United States. The answer is shown in this video. It’s a solution that’s elegant in its simplicity. It’s efficient. It’s quiet. It’s free. It’s beautiful, too.
