It’s been awhile since I saw what I saw Friday, but by no means is it the first time I’ve seen this: I was sitting at a red light, more or less mentally checked out. Traffic was going by in both directions, and a pickup truck was in the middle of the intersection waiting to make a left turn. Suddenly the truck started backing up, and just then my light turned green.
Yes, even though the driver had pulled into the intersection, when her light changed to yellow and then red, rather than completing her turn, she backed up to do it all over again. No one was behind her.
I really hate it when left turners don’t pull forward into the intersection with a green light, which, by the way, is completely legal. But backing up? Crazy.
