I see this kind of thing everywhere. It makes me sad. The drawing (which is available on a Woot t-shirt) suggests that people could be in the middle of the Grand Canyon or Yosemite and all its majesty and still be glued to their screens. I am quite sure that happens there every day. But take a look at this short video of everyday situations encountered by one woman. In the following scenes, which person are you? I sincerely hope you answer correctly. All of us would do well to step away from the phones and enjoy more actual face-to-face human interaction. Or to simply enjoy peace and solitude without immediately resorting to what one writer has called our “electronic nipple.”
