I’d like to share a loathing with you today. This is a true-life experience that happened to me just three days ago.
Living in the south, we know all about weeks on end with triple-digit temperatures and humidity. So it’s always great when fall arrives and we can again open our windows. Even if it’s still warm during the daytime, the cool nights are perfect sleeping weather. The sounds of owls and crickets and the breezes through the trees are soothing.
That’s why it’s especially annoying – yes, loathsome – when neighborhood dogs the other night spent the entire night barking. I am not exaggerating. They must have been exhausted when the sun finally rose. Meanwhile, where are their owners? And why aren’t they bringing their dogs in for the night, or at least hitting their annoying pets with an old shoe? Folks, if you want to have an outside dog that barks all night long, that’s fine. But the least you could do is buy 50 acres somewhere and go live in the country where your nearest neighbor is a mile down the road. Please.
In the meantime, I’m going to have to insist that you click play and turn the volume all the way up. Hey, it’s your own fault. You don’t have to do it now. Click it around 11 o’clock tonight.
