It seems like every two weeks or so another issue comes up. This one, for example, features a cover story highlighting recommendations made by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics in observance of March as National Nutrition Month. A good diet may not always cancel the need for medications, but it cannot be denied that a poor diet can cancel the effectiveness of many medications. In addition, there’s news about FDA proposals to change the Nutrition Label on foods. Check out the breaking news in our med student’s diary (p. 3), Helen Blocker-Adams and Bad Billy Laveau, a book review, high blood pressure info, a delicious recipe, news about the “5-second rule,” PSA testing, a Sudoku… is there anything this paper doesn’t have? (I mean besides political squabbling, arrest records, commissioner shenanigans, stock market news, hockey scores, and temperatures across the nation?)
