No, Ginger Baker, legendary rock and roll drummer for the legendary rock and roll band Cream is not dead. He might look like it sometimes, and as you’ll see in this epic video, he smokes – never a good thing to do at any age, let alone 75 – but he’s alive and kicking it, here with a jazz trio composed of Bill Frisell, Charlie Hayden, and Baker. It’s some outstanding music. Visually, it’s just weird. The Ginger Baker Trio features Ginger and Bill here, and Charlie waaaaay over there. Maybe they didn’t get along, but you’d never know to listen. If you like jazz, you’re in for a treat.
