Mid-Week Break: aka the Hump Day Hiatus

Problems weighing you down? Stress taking its toll? Huge obstacles standing in your way?

This week’s edition of the celebrated Hump Day Hiatus may help put things into perspective. It may be the most profound Hump Day Hiatus of all time. This demonstration project has been making the rounds of late, but if you haven’t seen it yet, it definitely helps put everything in its proper scale. “Huge” issues in our lives are relative things. As a friend of mine is fond of saying in stressful situations, “A hundred years from now nobody will really care.” It’s a great reminder that being five or ten minutes late for a meeting or appointment is, in the grand scheme of things, utterly and completely unimportant. As are many of the things we stress over. As a NASA astronaut says in this film, when the entire Earth can be covered by your thumb, you begin to realize how small we are on it.

Take a few well-deserved minutes to watch this and watch big problems shrink down to near microscopic size.
