I’ll be the first to admit, a cover story about pneumonia sounds booooooooring. But take a few moments to read it and you will probably be as amazed as I was at how serious and pervasive pneumonia is. It’s in keeping with our unofficial motto: if you take the time to read it, it should be worth your time to read it. We try to make every article in the paper measure up to that standard. (“We” being the publisher, columnists, contributors, etc.) One of our contributors this time is a person we’ve never met (a blogger named angienadia, an internal medicine doctor at Yale), but her observations in “The Blog Spot” (p. 11) are very pointed. Similarly, we take University Hospital to task for having a designated smoking area right in a major pedestrian thoroughfare. At a healthcare facility? Read and ponder. Tons of good stuff. Read on!
