I Hate Monday

7053592_f260Nobody likes to see rude and inconsiderate behavior, but it seems especially thoughtless when it costs nothing to be civil. I’ll give you an example or two that paints a picture using traffic in the Augusta area, but it happens everywhere.

Picture Washington Road in the Martinez area. It’s typical for cars to be backed up from the intersection at Bobby Jones. How many times have you seen someone trying to exit Taco Bell, and a car will stop right in front of that person, preventing their exit? The car on Washington Road has to stop anyway. What does it cost to stop ten feet sooner and let that person in? Flowing Wells Road during the evening rush is often backed up from Columbia Road nearly all the way to Wheeler Road. That’s residential neighborhoods all the way, with many quiet side streets. It’s amazing to see how often a car trying to leave the neighborhood has to wait an extended period of time while cars creep past at 2 m.p.h.

668903_10300179_lzIs that rudeness on the part of the drivers on Flowing Wells? Or is it “just” being inconsiderate? In situations like this – and they happen in every town on every busy road – simple manners cost nothing.

Did you know there’s an app that will fix this?
It’s called The Golden Rule.
Download it.
Use it.
