Bad Billy Laveau, celebrated Medical Examiner columnist, appears every Wednesday at 8 p.m. through Oct. 3 at Somewhere in Augusta. He’s their House Doctor of Comedy. Doctor’s orders: go see him. Why? Because laughter is the best medicine.
A special message for Medical Examiner readers
The Surgeon General sent us this just moments ago. The CDC doesn’t even have it yet.
September 7 issue drops!
Did you know the average hospital stay in 1980 was two weeks – versus three days now? True. There has been a huge trend toward outpatient care over the past few decades. What’s behind it, and what are the implications for patients? Read this issue for the answers. And what’s up with funeral traffic laws? Is it legal to pass …
Much newer and way more improved (sort of)
Ok, if this doesn’t work, we’re giving up. Our Internet consultant says we’re close, but still no cigar. Numbers are up, but still not where they should be. The cute kitty was just ok. Do it today. Here at the world headquarters of the Medical Examiner, our view is that the name GRU itself is only a …

AIMEE COPELAND UPDATE
As of last night, Aimee Copeland is again living back at home in Snellville, having completed her rehab. Think about her journey: not long ago she was a normal, active, healthy young woman. On May 1 she suffered a cut on her leg, and within days – hours, really – she was on the verge of death and given very …
